A family tradition that started in the 19th century

The Gómez-Núñez family, producers of Smoked Paprika El Sequero, are fifth generation growers from Candeleda, who upheld a family tradition that finds its known origins in the 19th Century.

Since then, they've been crafting an artisan product aimed to satisfy the hard-to-please consumer demands of the local families. They also perform “matanzas”, or traditional pig slaughters, and craft local products like cheeses with paprika and “tasajos”, a type of jerky consisting of marinated and dried goat or deer meat. They are now expanding the sale of their product to other national and international markets through the El Sequero brand, with the unwavering commitment to never lose the traditional qualities that define them.
